A rustic, unique Tree House on the Black River was designed as an "Adult Only" retreat for those who are looking for a way to be off the grid and connect with Mother Nature. The very private Tree House is perched on a hill overlooking the Black River. A quaint seven-sided created treehouse has five sides of glass and screens to view the peaceful river.
This is built around trees but you enter from ground level. Bring your fishing pole, kayak, or paddle board and enjoy the peaceful Black River.
A warm welcome awaits this "Adult Only" Tree House overlooking the Black River, only a short distance from Old Forge, New York. This is an "Adult Only" retreat since it is a tree house with lots of glass and has sharp drop offs down to the river that are not safe for children or pets. This is very friendly for senior citizens since you enter from ground level. Walls are tongue and groove pine and the other five sides are glass and screens to let you view the river from the inside.
Since the Tree House is small, a private and professionally well maintained port-a-john with a hand washing station with clean white towels is located a short distance from you. There is also an enclosed woodsy private shower with limited water heated by the sun. This could be a new experience for you since the sun is never predictable therefore, it could be a warm or cool refreshing shower. It's all part of being in nature. We call it a "cool experience".
The Tree House was designed and built by the owner and has a very unique appearance. The clear roof lets you view the sky and trees and adds a cheerful, light appearance to the serene retreat. We provide a great four burner grill with a side burner, however we do not provide cooking and eating utensils so feel free to bring your own. There are solar lights inside and on the property and a power pack to charge your cellphones and make coffee.
Black River Hideout
Experience relaxation and the amazing view of the Black River from the newly built Hideout. Tucked amongst towering trees, it's the big brother to the Tree House. The river side of the Hideout has a wall of mostly glass with sliding doors and windows to view the river in rustic romantic private Adirondack style. Sleep in a comfortable Aspen log bed. The off the grid cabin has solar power.
Located at the Adirondack foothills, a short distance from Old Forge, the Hideout on Black River is a unique very private, "off the grid" cabin perched atop a high spot with amazing views overlooking the Black River. A battery pack provides the ability to brew your coffee or make tea, charge your cell phone or laptop, and run a CPAP machine. It is the "Big Brother" to the Tree House on Black River. The interior showcases beautiful knotty pine with sliding doors opening to a wraparound deck to view the peaceful river. Large windows overlook the river and brighten the interior. Nestled on 19 acres of private wooded land and bordered by the Black River, this property is shared only with one other place, which is not in sight.
Large boulders greet you upon arriving at the unique spot overlooking the river. Relax on the wrap-around deck and view the tranquil river below. The Hideout has a very welcoming and cozy romantic feeling for you to relax and enjoy nature. Solar lights are used inside and out, with Edison lights illuminating the night sky, as you enjoy a campfire.
The Hideout was designed, built, and landscaped by the owner in an Adirondack style. A fire pit and picnic area with a gas grill overlook the river. The outdoor bathroom area consists of a brand new professionally maintained port-a-john with a hand washing station with fresh white towels at a short distance from the deck. There is also a "camp style" outdoor shower, which consists of shower bags of water heated by the sun. This means that there is no guarantee on how warm or cool the shower may be, but it's the fun of taking a private shower in the great outdoors.

We strive to have extremely professionally well-maintained facilities for our guests.
